The Iron Rose store name evolved from my close-knit group of friends. We all met later in life and started as a birthday group, getting together to celebrate each other's birthdays.

​One of the ladies in the group was diagnosed with breast cancer, and as she reflected on our time together as friends, she decided to name our group "The Iron Roses", with a nod to “The Steel Magnolias”. This name, in particular, first, because of everything we’d been through with our marriages, kids, friends, and families, and secondly, because of the beauty and strength of a rose that represented our bond and friendship.
